Oh, Hello

It's taken me a while, but I finally got around to placing an order from the new Seasonal Catalogue (available from now until the end of June) - ensuring that I spent enough to take advantage of a few of the great Sale-A-Bration offers currently available, too (a free stamp set or product for every $100 spent, a free pack of silver Glimmer Paper for orders over $300, and then, of course, free Hostess Dollars for reaching the first Hostess limit - love this company!).

Among other things, I wanted to play with this new set, Oh Hello.  I don't know what I liked about it - the greeting, the chevron oval, even the flower - it just had to be mine!

I also had an idea that I wanted to make something in Summer Starfruit and Basic Black - I have been seeing this colour combination in clothes shops lately and actually like it a lot more than I thought I would.

So with that in mind, I went to a friend's place for a stamping night recently with my new stamp set, new punches, new Framelits and some black, starfruit and white cardstock.  Here is the result:

The larger butterfly punch is from the Annual Catalogue, while the smaller is on page 13 of the Seasonal Catalogue.  The ovals were cut using the new Ovals Collection Framelits Dies.

Stay tuned for more fun stuff with new products :-)

Blue Butterfly

A quick search of my blog would reveal that I like my butterfly dies.  It's no secret :-)  If there's a blank space somewhere on a card, why not fill it with a butterfly?  And the dies are so easy to use!

So here's another quick one, which I whipped up the other week at stamp club (which, by the way, is open to anyone who can make it to the Mount Street Neighbourhood House in Glen Waverley on the last Saturday of each month - it's not a Stampin' Up thing, so no selling goes on, just a bunch of us who like to stamp with friends).

The background text is stamped in Crumb Cake, with the flourish and flowers in Midnight Muse.  The blue/brown combination is a real winner!
