Little things ...

This is a stamp set I haven't bought yet, and I'm not completely sure why! It is certainly my "style" if I could be said to have one. I think I simply forgot to add it to my initial order from this catalogue. Anyway, I borrowed it from Gail the other night to see it in action so to speak, and was pretty happy with the results.

By the way, the set consists of six stamps, four of which are small plant silhouettes, and two small phrases.

Firstly this, which is actually a CASE from something Liz was making ... I stole, uh, borrowed her idea, and dressed it up a little with the Eyelet Border Punch.

The stamps in this set are quite small, but this can be very effective in some cases as shown here. I tossed up whether to add something to the top half of the card but decided I liked it as it is.

Supplies used:

Stamp set/s: Pocket Silhouettes

Ink: Regal Rose, Rose Red
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Whisper White, Rose Red
Other: Large Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch, Eyelet Border Punch

The second card came out quite well, I thought. This time I stamped a couple of the silhouette stamps a number of times to create a bit of a garden. Again, the top part of the card has been intentionally left blank, as I kind of like the unbalanced look.

Something simple

I haven't played around with my stamps for a little while now - lots of other stuff going on, not least of which was Paperific (and if you missed that, don't forget the Craft & Quilt fair is being held in July at Jeff's Shed ... uh, I mean the Melbourne Exhibition Centre - yes, I'll be there).

So it was nice to find a few moments to sit down and create this card. I hadn't yet used the Kraft cardstock I got a few weeks ago, and thought it would be pretty dressed up with Pacific Point (such a gorgeous blue! At first I thought it was just too blue, and if you happen to drop a stamp wrong side down in the ink pad it gets everywhere, but now I'm quite liking it).

And it did only take a few minutes to put together once I got all the basic ingredients out.

The detail's not so great so you might not be able to see the words stamped along the bottom of the Kraft cardstock - these are from the Friendly Words wheel, and inked in Baja Breeze.

Paperific Report

I have just spent the last two days working at Paperific, and thank you so much to everyone who dropped past and said hello! In case you didn't make it, here's a picture of the stand (sorry about the quality - new camera, which I'm not totally happy about) to show that we had the wall literally covered with samples of some of the things you can make with Stampin' Up! products. It really looked special.

And here you can see Janine showing someone the catalogue - this was during one of the rare quiet moments on Friday afternoon.

The show runs until tomorrow afternoon, so if you have some spare time, pop into Stand 14 and say hi to the girls there - you won't see me, but there will be other friendly faces to talk to!

Nothing to see here ...

Sorry for the lack of posting lately, folks. I have been trying to get my head around working at Paperific, and have finally settled on my make & takes and also what I'll be demonstrating.

So no pictures today - if you want to see a sample of my make & take or my demonstration, you could always visit the show *g* (otherwise I'll post photos of them next week). There'll be lots of fun stuff there, I promise. We will be on Stand 14, selling catalogues and providing free make & takes and demonstrations throughout each of the three days of the show. We also have show specials running, which I can't recall offhand but they're good!

Hope to see you there!

More Cheep Talking Birdies

I am still loving this stamp set, as you might have seen from my previous posts here. What can I say? It's cute and with the number of stamps in the set there's a lot to mix and match.

This card is totally CASEd from one my friend Lizzie showed me the other night. I have changed it a little, mostly in adding the border around the punched circle (how did I do that? Easy! Punch a 1-3/8" circle, and then carefully line up the scallop circle so that the punched circle is centred).

And to add a little depth to it the Ruby Red layer is popped up on dimensionals. These things are awesome - I use them on every second card I make these days, and a packet will last for ages.

Paperific is coming!

For those of you in Melbourne, here's a reminder to keep June 19-21 free ... the next Paperific is being held at the Melbourne Showgrounds on these days, and I'm sure it'll be a great show as always.

There will be all sorts of vendors there for all your scrapbooking, stamping and papercraft needs, and of course there will be a Stampin' Up! stand manned (womanned?) by some friendly demonstrators including myself.

As you probably know, we can't actually sell any catalogue stock from our stand, however we will have catalogues available for purchase, as well as card and ribbon packs, and as always beautiful samples to look at. We will be running make & takes and demonstrations throughout the day.

So drop on by! I will be working at the stand on the Friday and Saturday and would love for you to visit!

By the way, the picture shown here is a "sneak peek" of one of my displays for the stand ... if you want to see more, you'll just have to visit us. Or wait until after the show when I will show the whole thing *g*.

It pays (more) to have fun!

You could be a happy hostess - just get a load of the promotion for June/July!

During these two months, any workshops that reach a total of at least $600 will earn the hostess an extra $40 in free merchandise. This is on top of the already great hostess benefits at this level (ie. a free Level 1 or Level 2 hostess stamp set plus $70 worth of catalogue goodies). You could grab a new stamp set (perhaps Upsy Daisy takes your fancy, or Trendy Trees, which are each under $40) or stock up on cardstock and ink.

Contact me today to book your workshop, but don't leave it too late!
