Need some Mojo?

I stumbled across Mojo Monday the other day ... why has it taken me so long to find this site?  (probably because the Internet is ... well ... pretty darned big).  It is what I have been needing to give me a bit of a kick start in the creativity department.

Here's my take on their Challenge # 235 ... yes, I know I'm too late to enter the contest, but it doesn't stop me using the sketch as inspiration!

I borrowed the colour scheme from ColourQ (except I forgot the Early Espresso and used Basic Black for the greeting).

Here's a closeup of the flower (from the Hostess Set "Array of Sunshine" - love it!).

Cherry Cobbler + Crumb Cake = Classy!

I love this colour combination.  Cherry Cobbler is such a beautiful deep rich red - it looks like it should be velvety to the touch, and Crumb Cake (aka The Colour Formerly Known As Kraft) is the perfect accompaniment.  Add a touch of Very Vanilla and your project almost makes itself!

Here I've used the new Framelits "Labels Collection" from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue ... love this product!  You get a set of six dies ranging from approx 4.5cm wide (at the widest point) to 13.5cm - a size for every occasion.  They are designed so you can see exactly where you're cutting and get precisely what you want.

The keen-eyed among you may also be able to make out the little scored border along the bottom of the card ... I did this using my new Simply Scored scoring board - a handy tool, comes with a stylus and instructions for creating the perfect score, every time.  You can also purchase an optional metric scoring plate (for those of us who aren't so good with imperial measurements *g*).  I have been using this to score up the folds in all my cards recently, and am trying to find time to really explore what I can achieve - the many websites out there dedicated to the Simply Scored and similar products will help me there!

Parfait-ly Pretty

I set about trying to make a card using my new Framelits Dies (now available from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue), incorporating the Designer Frames Texture Embossing folders I got last week - the oval frame in the embossing folder fits nicely inside the Framelits die, as you can see (and the Extra-Large Oval Punch is exactly the right size for the centre of the embossed frame!).

But for the life of me, I can't explain all this orange.  I just used a piece of Peach Parfait to make the central piece, and the next thing you know, the whole thing was Peach.  And I'm not generally a fan of orange, but I really like this card!
